Esquire Praises Delaware Supreme Court Decision to Rescind Administrative Directive No. 132

Esquire Hails Decision as “Victory” for Delaware Litigants

ATLANTA (May 19, 2009) – Esquire Solutions, the nation’s leading litigation support services company, and Alexander Gallo, CEO of Esquire’s parent company, praised the decision of the Supreme Court of Delaware to unanimously rescind Directive 132, which prohibited Delaware law firms and corporations from entering into pricing agreements for court reporting services.

Directive No. 132 prohibited financial arrangements between court reporters and litigants, including large businesses. Specifically, Directive 132 prohibited litigants and insurers who pay court reporting costs from entering into contracts with court reporters to receive discounted pricing.

In Administrative Directive No. 172, adopted on May 12, 2009, the Delaware Supreme Court determined that “Directive 132 was not the optimal way to accomplish the Directive’s intended purpose.”

Esquire Deposition Solutions has the largest base of court reporters in the United States. Gallo, a former court reporter, is Chief Executive Officer of Esquire’s parent company, Alexander Gallo Holdings LLC.

“We consider the decision to rescind Directive 132 a major victory for court reporting firms and litigants in Delaware and across the country,” said Alexander Gallo. “This decision paves the way for healthy competition among court reporting firms and reopens the door to free enterprise that Directive 132 had closed.”

Esquire was acquired by Alexander Gallo Holdings in September 2008, as part of The Hobart West Group acquisition.
